Evaluating Resume Screening Criteria
By STEADYWRK Team
A screening result needs a stated purpose and relevant criteria. Calling a tool “AI-powered” does not establish that its decisions are fair or that it understands an applicant's experience.
Make the criteria explicit
Ask which requirements the screening step evaluates and how those requirements relate to the role. A writing sample, a qualification and a period of experience answer different questions. Avoid treating a keyword match as a complete assessment.
Check how mistakes are handled
An applicant should be able to understand the requested information and identify a route for correcting an error. For an evaluation exercise, use synthetic examples with known expected results and inspect cases that the tool handles inconsistently.
Separate a test from a guarantee
The NIST AI RMF Playbook is a voluntary risk-management reference. It does not certify a recruitment product or establish the fairness of a particular screening decision.
When applying to STEADYWRK, use the current application instructions and describe your experience accurately. Do not add invented qualifications to satisfy a presumed automated filter.
