AI Literacy: Read, Test and Explain the Result

AI literacy includes being able to inspect an output, compare it with the task and explain what remains uncertain. Begin with material you are allowed to use and an answer you can check.

Separate the source from the answer

For a summary, keep the original text beside the generated version. Check whether the answer adds a claim, omits a qualification or changes the meaning. A citation should lead to material that supports the sentence attached to it.

Keep a simple test record

Write the task, the input and the expected result. Include an example with missing information and describe what the tool should do. Save enough detail to repeat the comparison after a change.

Explain the boundary

State what you checked and what you did not. A readable response is not evidence that an action completed. Look for a result that can be inspected separately from the tool's own explanation.
