Questions About a Commercial Quote's Scope
By STEADYWRK Team
A quote should identify what is being offered. Before comparing prices, read the deliverables, exclusions and assumptions that define each proposal.
Identify the unit of the quote
Write down whether the amount applies to a fixed deliverable, a period of access or another stated unit. Ask how the proposer handles a request that changes after the quote is issued. Keep optional items outside the base comparison until you decide you need them.
Ask for the acceptance criteria
Describe what you need to inspect before accepting the result. Where possible, use a sample report or a written checklist. Confirm whether a correction is included when the delivered result does not meet the agreed criteria.
Retain the version you accepted
Save the dated proposal and any agreed changes together. A later conversation should be able to refer to the same scope and version. Avoid estimating a supplier's internal margin or assuming that a lower price includes the same result.
Read STEADYWRK's published offers for their specific terms, then ask about the item you are evaluating.
