A Demonstration Checklist for HVAC Scheduling Software
By STEADYWRK Team
Prepare a synthetic scheduling example before a sales demonstration. Use the same example for every product you compare so the task stays consistent.
Make the constraints visible
Include an appointment window, a change requested by the customer and information that has not yet been confirmed. Ask the demonstrator to show how each item appears in the interface. A system should not need private customer records to demonstrate these basic states.
Inspect the result, not just the animation
Check whether the proposed appointment reflects the constraints you supplied. Ask what happens if a change cannot be saved or if two people edit the same appointment. Look for a clear explanation of the resulting state.
Include the person using the tool
Test the example on the device and screen size relevant to your use. Check whether labels, confirmations and corrections remain understandable. Record an unanswered question as a question rather than awarding an assumed feature.
Use written product documentation and the applicable offer to finish the comparison. Retain the completed checklist so you can compare each option against the same requirements.
