Commercial refrigeration jobs that respect the call and the clock.
Walk-ins down, racks tripping, product on the line. Get routed refrigeration work with real scope, the equipment details, and a dispatch team that knows a condenser from a compressor.
Why refrigeration technicians burn out.
Emergency calls dumped on you with no make, no refrigerant type, and no history, so you diagnose blind in a hot kitchen.
Driving across the metro for a "no-cool" that turns out to be a tripped breaker someone could have checked over the phone.
Carrying the cost of recovered refrigerant and EPA paperwork while the FM company takes the margin and pays you in 60 days.
Being graded on a food-safety response window nobody explained, for a site manager you never get to talk to.
Tools that respect the work.
Routed work with equipment make and model, refrigerant type, and prior ticket history before you load the van.
Phone triage first: the dead-simple checks happen before a truck rolls, so the jobs you get are real refrigeration work.
Weekly direct deposit on completed tickets, with no 60-day terms and no chasing accounts payable for your recovery costs.
A live ticket view with scope, photos, and sign-off in one place, plus dispatchers who answer when a rack goes down at 2am.
Questions refrigeration technicians ask us first.
What refrigeration work is routed through STEADYWRK?
Commercial refrigeration service for facility clients - reach-ins and walk-ins, display cases, ice machines, and rack systems for retail, grocery, and food-service sites. Diagnostics, service, and targeted repair, not new-store buildouts.
Do I need EPA certification?
Yes. A valid EPA Section 608 certification is the baseline for any refrigerant work, plus any state or municipal licensing your jurisdiction requires. We verify credentials before you take live tickets.
Do I bring my own tools and recovery equipment?
For most routes, yes - you work as a qualified HVAC/R tech with your own gauges, recovery machine, and reliable transportation. Specialty tooling for a specific ticket is discussed up front, not sprung on you on site.
How fast do I get paid?
Weekly direct deposit on a fixed cadence once tickets are marked complete and signed off. Payment terms are transparent before you accept any work.
Will I be on call at night?
Refrigeration is time-sensitive, so emergency windows exist, but you set your availability and radius in your profile. Work outside your declared hours and range is not forced on you.
Do I have to be a W-2 employee?
We work with both employed technicians and qualified 1099 service partners depending on region and licensing. You choose the arrangement that fits when you apply.
What happens when the scope changes mid-job?
You update scope in the app and pricing follows the work. If a service call becomes a compressor replacement, the ticket and the pay reflect it before you proceed.
Ready to run clean tickets?
One short application. No resume-black-hole. Real humans review every submission.
